UK Status National scarce B. Found Southern coastal counties of England, south east England as far north as south Yorkshire & west Wales. Montgomeryshire Status Probable wanderer. First recorded at Commins Coch in the west of the county in 2020. Wingspan : M & F, 10-11mm. Confusion species Scarce Black Arches. |
Flight time
(Montgomeryshire)  Habitat Coastal heathland, saltmarshes, chalk downland and open areas of woodland. Foodplant Dewberry, bramble, raspberry & wild strawberry Lifestage data Overwinters as a small larva in the vegetation. Larva September - late May. Pupates in a cocoon on a vertical stem. |
